We are offering a unique opportunity to improve your game with intensive instruction at your position area. Players will go through a set curriculum to learn all aspects of their position in our controlled Indoor environment. We will also utilize videotape breakdown of some of our sessions as a teaching tool. We are taking a very limited number of players in order to maximize instructional time and “touches” for each player.

Attack and Defense Academy- Only 11 Attackmen and 11 Defensemen will be taken in this program. The players will work separately by position and then together in order to incorporate “live action” reps into the program. The Attack and Defense Academy will be led by Apex HS Head Coach John Hayden.

Midfield Academy- Only 22 Midfielders will be accepted in this program. We will cover all aspects of Midfield play.  The Midfield Academy will be led by long time Apex HS Assistant Coach (and NC State Head Coach) Chip Thurston.

NEW OFFERING- Instructional Skills Program- This program is designed for 1)the new player in grades 5-9 who is looking for some intensive skill instruction in order to prepare for the spring season and 2)the player who has some experience, but wants to brush up on their essential skills and break some bad habits leading up to their spring season. Apex HS Coaches John Hayden and Chip Thurston will lead this program.

Who- The Position Academies are for players in grades 6-9 who already possess fundamental skills in passing, catching, and cradling and are seeking to bring their game to the next level.

The Instructional Skills Program is for players in grades 5-9 who are new to lacrosse or who want to brush up on their skill work in preparation for the spring season. This is a great place to be drilled in the basics and prepare you for the season!

The Girls Midfield/Attack Academy is for players in grades 5-9 who are interested in learning all of the fundamentals of these positions.  This is an intense program that will better prepare the girls for their spring season, whether they are getting ready for Varsity tryouts, preparing for the Middle School season, or just need to brush up on the basics of their position. This Academy will be led by Apex HS Head Coach Jenn Flaherty along with other coaches.

The Youth grades 1-4 Academy is a co-ed program for beginners. There are no equipment requirements other than a stick. We use softer rubber balls to reduce risk of injury. This program is designed to be fast paced and a lot of fun. We utilize a combination of instruction, drills, contests, and some scrimmage opportunities to teach the basic fundamentals of the game of lacrosse. This is a great place for the young player to get started.
