Indoor Lacrosse- League Rules

Each team will have a parent representative to help manage the team. The team representative will monitor, along with the team, the roster of that team and ensure that only players who are registered and currently on that team’s roster participate from week to week. If a team is found to have a player(s) playing for them who are not registered with the league, the team will forfeit that game and be suspended for their next game. If that team is found to be in violation of this rule a second time during the season, that team will be suspended from the league for the remainder of the season.

The Indoor Lacrosse league is a non-contact league. This is strictly enforced by our officials and is done so for the safety of our players.

There is no body checking of any kind allowed.

Hitting from behind, cross checking, and boarding are all strictly forbidden.

Shooting Into Another Player- If a defending player has body position on the attacking player with the ball, that attacking player may not shoot into and through that defender. This is a judgement call by the referee. This rule is for the safety of all of our players and it will be strictly enforced as an expulsion foul.

The area around the boards is considered a neutral zone. There should be absolutely no physical contact in this area.

Routine contact in the form of legal holds and stick checks are permitted.

We play two running time halves. Each game must end by the top of the next hour so teams are encouraged to be on time and ready to play at their appointed start time.

All penalties are full time served. Some penalties of a physical nature may be two minutes long at the discretion of the officials.

Any player who is called for 4 minutes of penalties in a game is ejected from that game and the next.

Any player who fights or hits another player is ejected from that game, the following game, and may be suspended for the season.

Crease violations are called accordingly to regular NCAA rules.

A faceoff starts each half. The ball is put in play with the goalie of the scored upon team after a goal.

We employ the top referees in the area to officiate all of our games. We expect and insist that they be treated with the utmost respect.

Sticks must conform to NCAA standards.

Each team plays a goalie and five field players at a time- one player from each team may not cross the midfield line.

If a team is short of players for a given game and needs extra players, that team must contact the League official on hand or the game official for that game if they are seeking to add players for that game.
